Plaidy Beach

Plaidy is a small sand and shingle beach located next to Millendreath beach, just around the corner from Looe. It is a nice summer get away spot as it is a bit of a hike over the hill from Looe and there isn't really any parking.

The beach backs onto a residential area with no real commercial development so has quite a peaceful feel to it. There is a slipway here and at high tide it is easy to launch from as there isn't much in the way of beach.

At lower tides the sand gives way to flat rocks which provide a multitude of rock pools to explore.

The south-easterly aspect of the beach makes it fairly sheltered and catches the sun. Whilst there is no lifeguard service the swimming and snorkelling are generally safe.

Parking

Plaidy beach backs onto a resedential area and there is no real designated parking. There is some street parking but it is limited and mostly restricted. The best option is probably to park at Millendreath and walk.
