A small, sheltered, sandy beach, slightly shelving. It is sheltered by cliffs close to the mouth of the River Fowey Estuary and bounded, on one side, by the medieval part of the Fowey and, on the other, by St Catherine's Castle. The beach can be covered during spring tides.
Reasonably safe bathing within cove, but not in the Fowey Estuary. However, can be water pollution after storms and heavy rain.
The beach is cleaned daily during high season and litter bins are available.
There are tidal rock-pools.
Above the cove is the former coach house which was the home of author, Daphne du Maurier, for a few years during the Second World War.

You can not launch a boat from the slip
Readymoney is a lovely little beach although there is a slip way it is NOT for launching boats other than Kayaks and SUP’s, This needs to be amended on your page. There are Buoys and a rope of floats stating that it is a swimming area.
Best early morning when it is quiet. It is worth walking upto the 16th century castle / fort.
Need a few lessons in how to make a flat white or in fact, any coffee worth drinking

Aug 25th 2023Great little beach, very scenic and clean. clear water great for swimming in. Lovely little shop that does and has everything. Great cups of tea you can take onto the beach and return the cups to a bucket outside the shop. if you fancy a walk there is a great cliff walk up the steps and off round the top and also the ruins of a castle.
Love it here.

May 24th 2021Lovely to be able to stay in Fowey and take the dogs on the beach, friendly and clean cafe with nice reusable and recycled plastic mugs which are so much better than disposable takeaway cups for the environment and much nicer to drink out of. There is a small voluntary charge for the toilets which I was happy to pay.
