The oddly named Lambeth Walk beach is easily overlooked, despite being almost in the town centre of St Ives. Part of the reason is it doesn't really exist at high tide.

At low tide things are different - the beach joins up with the harbour beach. On a big low tide you can walk around to neighbouring Porthminster beach

Located on the other side of the south pier, between the harbour and Porthminster beach, Lambeth Walk is the only year-round dog friendly beach in St Ives, without restriction.

To the rear of the beach is the church of St Ia. At the northern end is the RNLI lifeboat station and beyond that the harbour front with all its shops and cafes.

The name of the beach comes from the dance hall craze and hit song of the same name which swept the world in the late 1930s.
