This expanse of beach is what makes up a large part of Hayle's '3 miles of golden sand'. At low tide all the Hayle beaches join up to provide an impressive stretch of sand popular with sand yachts and kite buggies.

Despite being directly in front of a substantial caravan the beach is so vast that it very rarely gets crowded.

The naming along this stretch of beach gets a little confusing with this part of the beach also known as Upton Towans as well as there being considerable overlap with the quirkily named Mexico Towans.

    Also known as:

    Upton Towans

There is a car park in the caravan/campsite behind. There usually isn't a problem parking here but I have heard of people being turned away at the gate in summer.

Magnificent strech of sandy beach, great surf at Gwithian. Lots of great rock pools and sandy pools left when the tide goes out. These pools are mostly shallow and warm up in the sun. Great for beachcombing too. Fabulous sunsets. Overall a fantastic place.
